8-Day Moroccan Sahara Desert Adventure

Embark on an extraordinary journey through the enchanting landscapes at the edge of the Sahara desert, just a stone's throw from the Algerian border. Over the course of our trek, we will cover an impressive 105 km, immersing ourselves in the breathtaking beauty of the Draa Valley, the captivating pre-desert of Saghro, and the majestic dunes of Chegaga. As we traverse this stunning terrain, our journey will be enhanced by the rhythmic footsteps of camels, gracefully carrying our luggage and adding a touch of authenticity to this premium adventure.

Day One: Arrive in Marrakech.

We will meet you at the airport in Marrakech and transfer you to the hotel in the city center. While we wait for all participants to arrive, feel free to explore Marrakech in the afternoon.

Day Two: Marrakech - Faija.

We drive through the stunning High Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate and then Zagora, a journey of nearly 8 hours that showcases date-palm oases, Berber villages, and breathtaking landscapes. In Zagora, we switch to a more suitable vehicle for the trip to Faija, where we meet the camels and their cameleers.

Day Three: Faija - Camping.

Today we begin our trek. In the morning, we load the camels and set off for Hamada, enjoying views of the sparsely vegetated Saghro Mountains and possibly spotting some Bedouin nomads. After lunch in an oasis, we walk along dried riverbeds and reach the campsite at sunset. Walking time: 6h30.

Day Four: Camping at the Dunes of Chegaga.

We ascend to the Abbes pass, offering a view of the expansive desert. In the distance, the dunes of Chegaga come into view. We'll reach them later in the afternoon. Walking time: 6h30.

Day Five: Dunes of Chegaga to Dunes of Bougarne.

After exploring the small sand dunes of Chegaga, we head to M'hamid. We have lunch beneath the Tamares trees, and in the evening, we reach the less-visited dunes of Bougarne. Walking time: 5h.

Day Six: Dunes of Bougarne to Dunes of Oued Naam.

We wake up early to watch the dawn over the dunes of Bougarne. The rest of the day, we trek across a vast rocky plateau, arriving at the dunes of Oued Naam late in the afternoon. Walking time: 6h30.

Day Seven: Dunes of Oued Naam - Dunes of Mhamid - Marrakesh.

The final stage of the trek features stunning desert landscapes and a vast plateau of small dunes. Before we know it, we arrive at the Regaga dunes and then Mhamid, marking the trek's end. We then drive through the Draa valley to Zagora before transferring to Marrakech. Walking time: 3h.
